I finally upgraded my home studio setup last week, swapping out my old interface for something that actually handles direct monitoring without lag. The difference in recording vocals alone is huge — no more guessing if I'm in time. Also grabbed a used SM57 for mic'ing guitar cabs; it's a classic for a reason. Now I'm just obsessing over whether to get a compressor pedal or a software plugin next.
